MINISO Steam Eye Mask: Review

I have been on the lookout for steam eye masks in India, ever since someone gave me a pack of Kao Megrhythm steam eye masks (Japan) – which are one of the best eye mask products that I have used.

And since, my screen time has increased because of the laptop heavy work, I wanted a steam mask, to soothe my tired eyes. I chanced upon Miniso steam eye mask on Amazon, and since it wasn’t very expensive, I bought these to give it a try.

Miniso had around three variants, all with cute marvel characters. I chose Thor, because the others weren’t in stock then, and I have a bit of a soft spot for Thor.

Why should you use this?

The Miniso steam eye mask is a self-heating mask (dry). This is recommended for:

  • those who get dry and fatigued eyes
  • those who suffer from headaches caused by inflamed sinuses
  • people who are looking for a fun way to relax

How it works?

Steam eye mask is a self-warming steam eye mask which produces steam heat. This happens because of the iron powder in it, which generates heat when in comes in contact with air. This heat then works to soothe your tired eyes and in my case – my inflamed sinus.

How to use?

First, remove the eye mask from pouch. Then take the ear straps, and place it around your ears. and then just relax for 15-20 minutes.

The mask starts to warm up as soon as it is taken out of the packet. It loses its heating ability after it has been used once, so you cannot use it again.

Results

I didn’t have much expectation from this mask, as I have used Kao earlier. But the mask surprised me. It is similar to the Kao Megrhythm steam mask, though not as soft.

The Miniso steam eye mask fits very well and doesn’t slip off.  It does not have any fragrance, and heats up as soon as you take it out of its individual cover.

How does it feel like? It feels like a cozy eye blanket. It is just the right amount of warm and my eyes feel fresh and loses the heavy feeling after 10-15 minutes.

I also use this when I am suffering from cold. The warmth from the mask helps my sinuses, and reduces my headache considerably.

Ingredient List

Iron powder, Water, Activated Carbon, Salts

How often should you use this?

You can use it as often you like. I use it whenever I have overindulged on my screen time, and I’m having a mild headache or when I have cold and my sinuses are inflamed.

Price

This costs Rs 320 for 5 pieces, which amounts to Rs 60 per piece. I think it is a little on the expensive side, as the Kao Megrhythm mask of Japan retails for 900 yen for 12 pieces, which comes out to be roughly Rs 40 per piece.

Another issue is the online availability. They keep on coming and going out of stock. If you have a Miniso store near you, you can visit that and stock up.

Product Rating
4.5/5

I love the Miniso Steam Eye mask. It really helps me with my sinus, and fatigued eyes (due to increased screen usage). You can use it anytime, anywhere. It is easy to carry around, and you can use it while travelling as well, to help you relax.

I totally recommend using this product, as Kao Megrhythm steam eye masks (especially the fragranced ones) are still not available here. :/

**It is a must try for people who get headaches because of inflamed sinus.**

#ProTip: Try using a serum around your eyes before putting this face mask. It will help in good absorption of the serum and make your under eyes more hydrated.
