Where to Shop for the Wedding Season From: Contemporary Sarees

This post is the second in line of ‘where to shop for sarees from.’ The first post being about shopping for traditional sareesAnd while there is a separate place in my heart for traditional sarees –  there is another nook in my heart exclusively for the stylish and chic contemporary sarees that include chiffons, georgettes, nets, satin, linen and organza’s – amongst others.

While shopping offline has its own charm which includes day long planned shopping trips with your friends and family and gorging your heart out on street foods – I’d say shopping offline is more convenient without having the brave the huge crowds. A nd for this, let us start with where to buy good contemporary sarees from, for the wedding season.

Where to buy the best stylish-contemporary sarees online from:

1. Nykaa Fashion

I love browsing through nykaa fashion. It has such a huge variety to choose from. From extremely affordable ones to designer ones. And a lot of boutique brands are also listed there.

If buying from here, buy from the app, as reviews for now are only visible on the app. Plus do keep a eye on the delivery timelines – I had ordered a suit a few weeks back and it took around 2-3 weeks to deliver.

2. Kalki Fashion

Another really good website. It has such beautiful designer sarees. Though the sarees are expensive here,  you may find some beautiful pieces within the budget of Rs 5000 as well

3. Myntra

Myntra is the obvious choice when it comes to buying any clothing item. It has a vast collection of sarees to take your pick from. The key lies in selecting the right filters while making the search. 😉

4. Jaypore

You’ll get lot of unique pieces in Jaypore. You will get both traditional as well as contemporary designer sarees here.

Do also checkout their collection of silver jewellery.

5. Swtantra

So, a few months back I was looking for satin sarees and I came across Swtantra – and they have a fantastic collection (at least for satin sarees). Since then they have moved into chiffon, net, organza amongst others.

Their collection is simplicity itself. No over the top prints, nothing too gaudy – just plain colors and nice florals.

6. Ajio

Ajio has really good sarees if  you search for them properly. They are priced at competitive rates, and if you have a good cart size, then you get extra discounts as well!

You can also checkout their range of traditional sarees under the brand name – ‘Indie Picks‘ which is very affordable and has a huge variety.

7. Koskii

Koskii has a extensive and good collection and gives good discounts from time to time. It has a nice collection across fabrics and prints.

8. OgaanMarket

Another e-retailer that sells women apparels. It has a beautiful collection of sarees. I’d say that the collection houses brands that are priced slightly higher. Nevertheless, you’ll find sarees in different hues and fabrics to take your pick from.

9. Aachho

If you are looking for nice floral sarees, then aachho is it. It has such beautiful floral organza silk sarees, you might just want to buy the entire collection for yourself.

These are some of the websites that I looked up while shopping online. There are many other websites as well as insta pages that sell boutique sarees, but I do not have any experience with them.

Other websites, that you could also look at are:

  1. Chidiya – They have a good collection of sarees, but they are mostly for regular day wear events and not for any festive occasions
  2. Tyaar India – This website had such pretty organza sarees. But I read in the reviews that some of them were short for people above 5’4. So, I never got around buying anything from there
  3. Amrapali Boutique – Similar to the collection of Suta, but pricier. If you are looking for boutique sarees, you should pay this site a visit

Many sellers sell polyester in the name of expensive fabrics. So please keep your eyes open while shopping for sarees online.

Happy Shopping
